Car Stereos: car stereo saving radio stations, computer power supply, sony cdx

Question
I have made a boombox from a Sony CDX-C8050X with a computer power supply for power for use by the pool.  The problem is when I unplug it to take it inside, I lose all my saved radio stations. How much charge do I need and how do I deliver it when the radio is unplugged?

Answer
Hi Rick,

The deck doesn't require much power to keep your stations, but it does need a constant supply of 12V to its constant wire to not lose them.  If you're unplugging it, your options are very limited.  You'd have to wire in some sort of battery backup or capacitor to provide it enough juice to keep its settings when it's being moved, as most decks do not possess any internal nvram or batteries to keep settings when power is lost.
