Car Stereos: connecting an aftermarket in dash to a 97 deville, factory radio, speaker grilles

how do i connect my in dash directly to the factory amp already installed in my 97 deville.i bought a wire harness and everything worked and i got power but no sound.i went to a installer and was told i had to hook it up directly to my factory amp.

Hi Rico,

I'm going to have to do a little more research on your car to give you a good answer.  Can you tell me if your Deville is equipped with the Bose audio system?  If it is, you should see the Bose logo on the factory radio, or on the speaker grilles.
