Car Stereos: no sound, option menus, speaker level

I have a kenwood dnx514 i am trying to install in my acura, i bought a wire harness adapter plug and connected all wires. have it all together and pluged it in and no sound comes out on dvd and ipod mode. It does have sound on normal fm tuner mode. i bought the proper kenwood ipod adapter cable.

Clinton,  Work your way through the different option menus.  There are all kinds of settings in different places for different options.  Chances are the settings are set to preout or off instead of speaker level.  If the speakers are working with the radio, they should work for the other stuff.  The only thing that it could be is the settings.  Hope this helps, Scott
