Car Stereos: new car stereo and old, car stereo, 17 years

i put a new  cd player in my car and it works fine whens its parked but when i hit the gas when its in reverse or drive my driver side speaker crackled very loud and and the cd quit playing after a bit i took the cd out and put back in and it worked could there be wire loose or is my cd player not working right my speakers are 17 years old could they be goin bad

Hi Nathan,

Speakers making a noise specifically when you do something else unrelated in the car points to interference because of bad shielding.

In a 17 year old car, it's to be expected.  You're probably not getting clean power, clean signal, clean anything.

Unfortunately, your only option is to test wiring and replace as needed.
