i have a 1990 chevy corsica and just installed a dual xmd6350 headd unit and new speakers in the dash and when i hit a bump theres no sound stereo works but no sound i dont want to go to some place to pay 40 bucks to find whats wrong then try to fix it and ccharge me a ton of money

Jeffery, I agree with you about wasting your money at a stereo shop.  They seem to overcharge for minor repairs.  Your problem sounds fairly simple.  There is a short somewhere.  That means there is a bad connection somewhere or a bare wire somewhere.  You will need to pull out the headunit, and check every connection.  Be sure they are all tight and secure.  Also, be sure there are no bare wires.  Any bare wires should be wrapped with electrical tape.  That should fix the problem.  If the cd player still works after hitting bumps, the short may be in the antenna wire.  If the sound stops even with the cd player, then it could possibly be a loose ground wire.  Be sure your ground wire is fastened securely to a piece of bare metal.  Hope this helps, Scott
