Car Stereos: 02 Durango Infinity Sound Overhaul, infinity system, mono amp

Question
Hey
Im looking to upgrade my 02' Dodge Durango. I think ive found all the parts and im tryin to decide what quage of wires to use.
Assuming I think how im going to wire it all up right.
But for the woofer is a 150RMS @ 4 ohms 800Max and the mono amp for that is 250RMS x 1 @ 4 ohms. The Front + Rears are 50RMS @ 4 ohms 180Max and the 4 channel amp ive selected is 50RMS x 4 @ 4 ohms. what guage of wire will i need for the power, speakers, ground?

Ok and actually hookin this thing up... There is the factory infinity Sytem which I think is FUBAR. But the deck im about to install has a "F" and a "SW". So to hook it all up ill run a power wire to a fuse then to a distribution block and from there a line to the 4channel and hook the fronts on channel A and Rear on channel B. then from the distrubion block anohter power to my mono amp and some wire to the sub.  Lastly on the rear of my head unit run an RCA from "F" to a Y splitter  then into the 4 channel(for channels A + B), a RCA from the head unit "SW" to the mono amp?

Is this correct? sorry its so long.

One more thing (sorry) once i buy all this will i have to un hook anything from the factory wire on the head unit or will it be "Plug N Play" basically?

Thanks!!!

Answer
Hi Garrett,

I would suggest running 4 gauge wire to the back into a distribution block that has 8 gauge running off of it.  It might be slight overkill, but I'd rather too much than not enough.

Make sure the ground is at least as heavy a gauge as the power going to the amp.

Your assumptions on the hookup with the Y cable makes sense to me - at least that's how I'd do it.

You might need to buy a factory amplifier bypass kit because you have the infinity system.  Check crutchfield.com for details.

My apologies for the late reply.
