Car Stereos: GM wiring harness, gm bose, bose system

I would like to upgrade my factory deck in my 2002 S10 with a 2007 GM Bose deck and was wondering if the harness is the same or do I have to make any modifications to the harness?

Hi Steve.

Im afraid that radio wont work on your system, because a bose system will be run by amplifiers, so the deck is ussually "Dead" wich means no power its coming from it, if your pick up right now its not equipped with a bose system then the boss radio wont work on it. But watever you do please dont cut any wires from the factory harness,if you later on decide to replace the radio for an aftermarket the installation would be much more easier if the harness is untouched.I guess all you would have left to do would be just try it see if it works, ive personally never tried this, im just using common sense.
