Car Stereos: Jammed CD in truck stereo, needle nose pliers, chevy silverado

Question
I have a 2005 Chevy Silverado with a stock CD/FM radio player. I have a CD that is jammed in the slot and when i try to eject it nothing happens, i don't even get an eject message. I have tried some needle nose pliers to see if i could pull it out but it was pretty resistant. Any ideas???

Answer
Chris, That is really the only inexpensive thing to try.  My experience has been about half and half.  You might try a butter knife to kindof pry on it a bit.  Otherwise, it must be taken apart to get it out.  And, obviously, the eject mechanism will probably have to be repaired before another cd is inserted.  Most mobile cd players are made very weakly and any little mess up usually causes damage.  If you remove the stereo from the truck, the electronic repair shop should charge around $100 - $150 to remove the cd and repair the mechanism.  Hope this helps, Scott
