Car Stereos: install, jeep grand cherokee, grand cherokee

i just bought a new kenwood deck for my 98 jeep grand cherokee and bought a kicker wiring set for my sub and amp which are both kickers, my brother and i removed the seats and ran the wire under the carpets, but once we installed the deck with the wiring harness they suggested, we get no power to the deck. we touched the deck to the car battery and it powered on, but once we hook it up through the wiring harness it doesnt work? any suggestions?

Hi Willy,

First and foremost, check the radio fuse in the panel to make sure it didn't get fried in the process.

Second, make sure the connections are clean to the harness.  Specifically the ground.  Another thing to try is to ground the deck out on the chassis instead of at the harness.

Beyond that, your best bet is to get out a multimeter and start testing wires.
