Car Stereos: 2000 Chevy Monte Carlo help, monte carlo ss, car cd player

QUESTION: I have a 2000 chevy monte carlo ss..i had the factory speakers in and i think they were hooked to an amp my CD player wasn't working so i bought a tape deck car kit and plugged my ipod into it they sounded great but had a cracking sound i wasn't knowing that heads needed cleaning and i took the factory speakers out....NOW I HAVE INSTALLED SUM INSIGNIA 6X9'S AND THEY DON'T SOUND LIKE THEY ARE BEING POWERED BY THE AMP NOW AND THEY DON'T GET REAL LOUD SO I THINK I HOOKED SOMETHING UP WRONG

does your car has a bose system or any kind of premium sound?, its a factory premium sound system it should say bose somewhere on the speaker grills or on the car cd player.

there is nothing wrong with the wiring, your car uses 2ohm speakers and you bought 4ohm speakers Right?. thats why its not loud at all your car has door speakers amplified by factory amps, the amps on your car are designed to do their power at 2ohm so you need to match that up.
the only brand that we are aloud to sell that makes 2ohm door speakers its infinity.
so its gonna be a little hard to find one. you have to go to a (profesional) car audio shop. those you cant get at stores like wal-mart.
