Car Stereos: Land Rover Discovery II stock speakers, land rover discovery, stock speakers

Question
Shawn, I have read another question answered about Stock Discovery Speakers being common ground speakers.  That being said, my Discovery II stock speakers are cutting in/out poping all at once.  I have not checked the ground but I'll do that soon. (Where is the ground wire located on the Discovery II, I am able to pull the Tape Deck)  Question is would 1 blown common ground speaker cause all speakers to cut in/out pop?  I have not idea how to fix this!!!  How would I trace where the failed ground is?  After reading your last answer I do believe I have a ground issue with one speaker that's causing all 11 speakers to pop cut in/out.  Any help is MUCH appreciated.

Answer
It's not likely that one speaker ground would cause all speakers to pop, unless that speaker is shorting the positive lead to ground. (ie. a shorted voice coil could definitely do this, but it's pretty rare) The only way to isolate this is to go through and unplug each speaker, one at a time. If the popping disappears, then you've isolated the culprit. It's time consuming.. but most troubleshooting of this type is.
To confirm wiring colors etc, check out the wiring codes on www.crutchfield.com. If your vehicle is not listed there, you might want to check out the Mitchell manuals at your local library. There should be detailed wiring info on your specific vehicle there.
