Car Stereos: 2000 Jaguar XJ8L radio, jaguar xj8l, jaguar dealer

Question
Hello. I would like to install a new audio system in dash with a CD changer into my 2000 Jaguar XJ8L. am wondering if there is a replacement unit that would fit into the car and look original.if not do you know of any CD changer that would work in the trunk as I am told the car is factory wired for a changer there. thanks, Dave

Answer
I looked at your model and there is not a really nice looking conversion plate to make an aftermarket radio look factory.  I would suggest using your factory stereo, if it is equipped to control the trunk mounted changer.  If so, there may be wiring already in place for the changer in the trunk.  If not, the trunk mounted changer may need to be wired in.  Also, if the changer unit is all that is needed, you may be able to find a changer that came out of a wrecked car at a local salvage yard for next to nothing.  A call to your local Jaguar dealer should garnish some results about the wiring and the brand of changer that is needed.  Hope this helps, Scott
