Car Stereos: 94 caravan lock/light problem, sony head unit, fuse tester

94 caravan with the infinti radio it quit so i put in a sony head unit still could not get sound from speakers so i ran my own speaker wire/speakers it works fine now.
i didnt buy the plug in harness for radio while wiring i let the memory wire from radio touch ground wire and it sparked. now i dont have dome lights/power locks or battery gauge.i re checked factory wires and the acc wire for the the radio has juice when switch is on but the batt wire to radio has no juice.checked fuses and they look fine so i hooked batt wire to acc wire and everything is fine with the switch on but i dont have them with switch off.did i fry something or is there a fuse link or relay somewhere other than fuse box.thanks

Hi Henry,

You're almost 100% certainly dealing with a bad fuse.  Even if they LOOK OK, it doesn't mean they are.  Disconnect the negative terminal from the battery, and TEST the fuses.  You can buy a fuse tester at your local hardware store for a few bucks..  Replace the one that's fried.

Also, some cars have two fuse panels.  I'm not sure off-hand whether the 94 Caravan is one of those, but theyre usually under the hood, and under the dash.
