Car Stereos: No sound then no power, panasonic cq, suzuki esteem

Hello,
First off i have a panasonic cq-c1333u deck that is causing me some
problems. It all started this past weekend when i turned the car off then back
on only for the speakers to stop working (deck was still operating). thinking
for it to only be a loose connection, i removed the deck to check the wires
only for the deck to lose power after checking the connections. I've checked
all fuses but have been unable to locate the problem. I have a 99 suzuki
esteem. If you could give me any insight into this it would be greatly
appreciated.

Hi Rory,

If you originally had no sound, and then touching the wires caused no power, I'd suggest it is the wires.  Try reconnecting the harness, and the wires going to it, and make sure everything is very snug.  You've probably got a loose connection somewhere, and judging by the behaviour of the deck, it might be where either the factory harness connects to the aftermarket harness, or where the deck harness plugs into the deck.
