Land Rover Repair: 300TDI Discovery Engine Vibration, crank pulley, engine vibration

Question
I never thought that a clogged injector would cause a vibration in the engine that appeared to me as something out of balance. I will check out the injectors. Is this problem common? The vibration in question resinates through the chassis. I have checked all the engine mounts and they are fine. I thank you for the information and hope this further information may help with solving this problem.

Hi John,
I have a 1994 300tdi Discovery manual. It has developed an engine vibration through most rev ranges and idles roughly but at a constant rpm. If the clutch is depressed and in gear and then rev the engine the vibration is still there. The vibration has been progressively getting worse.

The first thing I'd check would be the fuel filter and the fuel injectors for clogging. Also check for a clogged air filter or intake.

Answer
Well, it was not clear that you had a balance problem from the first post.  If that's wht you think you shold be looking at motor mounts, crank pulley, accessories, etc.

It's very difficult for anyone to offer advice online about noises and vibrations
