Car Stereos: my pioneer deh p3600wont play cds and i need help finding a part, ribbon cable, pioneer deh

hi i recently installed this in my car when i put a cd in it takes for a sec then kicks it out i opend it up and saw a ribbon cable had a tear in it when i looked on the internet to find the part CXX1641 its the whole pick up assembly for 40$ i was just wondering where could i just buy the exact cable form without the other stuff

Hi Ryan,

Your best bet is to look on ebay and local websites for old busted decks (you'd probably do well to post a 'looking for' ad on craigslist).  The likely scenario is that most (if not all) pioneer decks share that same part.  People will likely be willing to part with them for little to nothing.

When things like this happen, sadly, in today's day and age, it's usually cheaper to replace than repair, and it's really too bad.
