Car Stereos: sound cut out, resistence, impedance

Question
The other day I installed  two new pairs of speakers(Alpine Type s) in my car(97 civic). The music was going fine then all of a sudden it cut out. So I checked over everything that I did, still nothing. Then I pulled the deck out to check the connections(all intact), so i put the deck back in and turned the car on and it worked for about two seconds and now i cant get it to work again so far. I know that the connections are there and that no fuses are blown. I was thinking that maybe it was the amp in the deck overheating but I do not know. The deck still has power but no sound please help I would be very greatful.

Answer
Hi Josh.

i would check your wiring man make sure that nothing its shorting out, im afraid that thats causing your cd player to cut out like that i hope its not too late lets pray for the radio didnt fry already u can burn those outputs easy if you keep trying to play the radio like that. another thing could be causing the radio to cutout its if you wired more then 1 speaker per output if you connect speakers in serials you are lowering the resistence on the speakers, regular cd players can only hold a impedance of 4ohms. and hmmm did you get a good ground?. that could be the cause too.

hope this helps man

best regards.
