Car Stereos: deck problems, jeep cherokee sport, jeep cherokee

i installed a JVC KD-G210 in my 1996 jeep Cherokee sport and it works until i turn on the Ganges/headlights. When i turn on the gauge lights it just turns off like normal, like i pressed the power button. what's wrong here?

Sorry I took so long,
  Check the wiring harness. If the orang illumination wire is connected, disconnect it. double check all your fuses, your yellow power wire, and red accesory power. that's all I can help you with over the internet. Again sorry I took so long.
