Auto Racing: Tirewear and pushing in the corner, rear sway bar, dodge neon

Question
I have 1996 dodge neon which is raced on a 1/8 mile paved oval. Ive been having trouble with the RF tire wearing alot on the outside. The funny thing is that a have a whole bunch of camber \\. The car also wants to push in the middle and coming out of the corner. Any Help thanks.PS I just installed a ST front and rear sway bar, but have yet to try the car with it installed.

Answer
It sounds like you might not be using enough air pressure , AND you're probably carrying 75 % of the weight of the car on that tire in the turns.   The reason it pushes in the middle and coming off is cuz you are having "power understeer"  As you pick up the throttle in the middle, you are causing wheelspin (due to the poor suspension setup) which interferes with steering traction.

You need to get as much weight OFF of the RF as you can, lower that corne and the LR as well, raise the RR and LF - - -but only chinge one at a time , take notes each time, and record test lap times with each change.

The anti roll bars will add a new dimension to the mix, and may help , but you need to stop buying stuff, and take what you've got and make it work.

My best piece of advice is to get the book: "How To Make Your Car Handle" by Fred Puhn- - -bookstores should have it, or they can order it in just a day or two. it's about $16.00 and will take a second off your lap time. (If you READ it ).  Once you've exhausted the knowledge in the book, you should have the fastest Neon at the track.

Best of luck !!
