Auto Racing: Tranny, gm 350, th 400

Question
I was wondering if you could tell me about how much horsepower and torque a crate GM 350 Turbo Hydromatic transmission could handle.

HI TYLER ,AS I RECALL THE 350 WAS CONSIDERED THE TORQUE RATING THE TRANS WOULD HANDLE THRU IT'S NORMAL LIFESPAN AS THE TH 400 IN HEAVIER CARS OR WITH HIGHER TORQUE ENGINES .BUT I BELIEVE OVER THE YEARS THIS CAPACITY HAS IMPROVED SOMEWHAT BECAUSE OF UPDATED PARTS AND METTALURGY.THANKS, JOHN MAZIO
