Auto Racing: RE: warm up, sean hyland motorsports, central coast mustang

This may sound stupid but I have to ask anyway.
I was always told by my dad that " you'll own your automatic a lot longer if you take the time
to warm it up every morning" is that true? if so
how long should i warm it up for? And my second question is I have a ford focus "04" 4-door with an automatic tranz is there avaible peformance parts and where to look on line you being a ford man i hope you can help thanks for your time

  I guess that's *sort of* true.  A cold automatic transmission isn't a great thing, but it won't hurt to drive it without a warm up so long as you don't tear around in it while the transmission's cold.  If you do choose to warm it, I'd say anywhere between 5-10 minutes should be good enough.  Focus performance parts...there aren't a ton out there but the market is gaining steam, especially since the SVT Focuses came out.  I know Central Coast Mustang has started a side project known as "Focus Central", Sean Hyland Motorsports has developed Focus parts as has Saleen and Steeda.  I know I did a turbo install on an '02 Focus, but I don't know how much (if anything) has changed for the '04 models.  If you look around I'm sure you can find a good amount of products.  Hope this helps.
