NASCAR Racing: Do car models really matter, chevy ford, hi doug

Question
With all the regulations on the cars, the additions to cars and the engines, does it really matter what BRAND of car the drivers have?  Seriously, with the weight regulations, HP regulations, Tires, fuel, and etc.  is there really any advantage to the style of car?

Thank youDouglas W. Rice

Answer
Hi Doug,

The quick answer is: No.  NASCAR's regulations on the stuff you mentioned are tight so that no particular model gets better fuel consumption or aerodynamics.  Chevy, Ford, Dodge, and Toyota are nearly all equally matched.  This is what separates NASCAR from any other auto series:  It comes down to what the driver, not the car, can do.
Hope i helped
