BMW Repair: Fan Blower, 2001 bmw 325i, bmw 325i

Question
QUESTION: On my 2001 BMW 325i when the A/C is on the air flow coming out is very inconsistent and seems to pulse with huge to small variations of the A/C, and also when I turned off the engine the blower motor is still running.

ANSWER: When you say the blower motor, I'm assuming you mean the heater/fan/AC motor.  This fan will continue to run if the engine is off and the key is in the "on" position.  If it is running when the key is off (or removed), then there is an electrical component problem, likely with either the relay or the switch.

If the blower motor doesn't run when the key is in the off position, then and your problem is the inconsistant flow, there are still at least two different scenarios:
-Are you saying the temperature is inconsistant and pulses?  If so, your compressor may be kicking on and off, possibly because you are low on freon.
-Are you saying the flow is inconsistant and pulses?  If so, it could be your fan motor or controller, or your "flaps" directing the airflow may be activating unintentionally.

I hope this gets you started in a direction.  If you can provide me more details, I may be able to help further.

QUESTION: When the engine is off and the key is removed from the car the blower motor still runs, and also when the A/C is on the air flow coming out suddenly becomes stronger or smaller without adjusting the strength of the A/C.

Answer
For the blower motor, it sounds like either your switch or the relay is bad.

Your varying airflow MAY be tied into the same problem.

It's worth getting it checked out.  With a couple of quick tests, a BMW mechanic should be able to identify the bad components.
