BMW Repair: 1994 bmw 325ic, bmw convertible, bmw service

There is a 1994 bmw convertible for sale that I am considering buying. The only problem is that the vehicle has 199,000 miles on it, it has only had 3 owners and appears to drive really well. The current owner had the vehicle put on diagnostics and ran a computer check to check for any problems, he says everything checks out okay. My question is what can I expect to get out of this purchase. How long can I expect the engine and tranny to hold up?? I am a little skeptical cause the book value is listing this vehicle at 5,600 on the low end and they are selling it for 3,500. What would you advise I do??

If its a auto trans then beware, if the tranny has not been serviced it wont last long, the engines are strong, but either way these cars are expensive to maintain , so i would have the car looked at by a bmw service shop first.   Thanks Nathan Babbitt  ( Babbitt Motor werks)
