BMW Repair: cooling problem, 1998 bmw 540i, blown head gasket

Question
I have a 1998 BMW 540i, car was starting to run a little on the hot side and the radiator was leaking on the side so I installed a new radiator. After the installation the car still continued to run about 3/4 toward hot. I replaced the water pump and the thermostat. The car still has not run any cooler. When you start it and run it, the temp comes up to normal, about 1/2 on the gauge and then starts going towards hot. When I turn it off and touch each side of the hoses at the water pump, the side going up to the radiator is very hot and the side coming from the bottom side is not that hot. Whats going on? I even thought maybe a blown head gasket but it does not build pressure if you place your hand over the opening of the cap.
Thanks,
Todd

Answer
Check to make sure youre auxillary fan is coming on, if you have the A/C on the auxillary fan should come on, check the function of your fan clutch allso. did you bleed the cooloing system correctly you may have an airpocket , if the heater works and blows hot air then there are no air pockets.  Thanks Nathan
