BMW Repair: 2003 e46 blower fault, blower fan, live in australia

Question
Evan
Live in Australia and own a 2003 E46 318i (2l) auto. Blower fan has been intermittent a few times over the last for a month. On weekend I operated the ignition a dozen or so times. At first the blower worked for a few seconds before failing. The time of operation seemed to get shorter the more often I tried it. Eventually died completely with no signs of coming back to life. BMW have suggested that it is the fan speed resistor. Do you have instructions on replacing this part for my model? Given that I have been quoted $130 ($US$110) for labour for the dealer to do the work, would you suggest leaving it to them? Thanks, Ian

Answer
Ian, I would let them do it. But there are instructions to do it yourself in other post from my questioners. Look at past posts and you'll find the instructions. It takes a moderate ammount of skill and twisting around to do it. That is why I say let them do it. Read the instructions and try it if you wish.
