BMW Repair: BMW Z4 Rough Running, bmw z4, fuel level

I have a 2.5i Z4. It has done 14,000 miles. Three times in the last year the engine ran rough and ignition coild were replaced. It has started to happen again. Is there likely to be an underlying problem? What would you recommend? Thank you.

Kevin, I would agree that there is an underlying problem. How long does this happen? Is it happening now? What conditions does it happen under? Low fuel level? Are you using 91 octane or higher from a reputable retail gas station? Can the Dealer get the car to run rough when they have it? Go on a test drive with one of the Technicians when the car is acting up. You have to play detective and narrow down when this happens. Three times in the last year is not very often. This sounds like it would be hard to duplicate constantly to be able to fix it.
