Answer
Tony, make sure you have good fuel pressure at the rail (45-50psi). Poor man's test is to squirt just a touch of starter fluid (ether) into an intake hose. If it sputters then it is missing fuel or fuel delivery. If you give it gas pedal does it start and then die? Try tapping on the body of the idle valve located just above the throttle body with a long extension. Then does it start? If so the idle valve maybe carboned up and sticking. You can remove it and clean it out until you hear the internal door move when you twist it in your hand, but replacement is better. Remove air box and throttle body intake hose. Make sure key is off. Throttle hose goes from back of air mass meter to throttle body and idle valve (aluminum valve just above the throttle body). Inspect hose for cracking or tearing at outside of idle valve bend. Replace hose if any signs are seen because this will cause an intake leak. Remove idle valve and wiggle in hand by turning your wrist back and forth. You should hear the door hit the end stops if it is free to move. If this is checks out reinstall all components properly. Check air filter for clogging also. Start car and see if symptoms have gone away. If not replace throttle body and gasket.
