BMW Repair: remove the fan, 1998 bmw 528i, fan clutch

Question
can you tell me how to remove the fan from the radiator in an effort to change
the water outlet and the thermostat.
(1998 BMW 528i) VIN -"BW39552"

Juan, the mechanical fan clutch nut is 32mm and is left hand thread (clockwise loosen, counter tighten). I use a craftsman 32mm combination wrench and a hammer to loosen the nut. Put the open end on the nut with the wrench positioned straight up. Using a good hammer hit the box end of the wrench just to the passenger side of center and the fan should brake free (may take a couple of trys). Tighten by striking the wrench in the tightening direction. The engine rotation and the counter tightening of the fan clutch nut with self tighten as the engine runs.
