BMW Repair: 2007 BMW X3si, bmw software, confidence level

I have owned a new 2007 BMW X3si for 3 days and have experienced numerous problems with the navigation system and related functions.  Essentially the screen went blank and the radio is locked on one station.  The dealer can't install Sirius satellite radio due to software upgrade issues.  They say they think they can fix it on Friday, 12/22/06.  My confidence level is low.

Jim, the navigation issue may take a little time depending on how reproducable the complaint is. Also it is such a new vehicle they may have to get the parts from the assembly line in Germany. As for the software I haven't researched it, but we are all at the mercy of BMW software engineers. Ask the Service manager if he/she can help you with the cost of the Sirius install or parts considering your situation. Just be positive and understanding and the service department will be much more willing to help you.
