BMW Repair: e39 power loss and dsc light is on, obd2 scanner, transmission control module

Question
recently change exhaust manifold on my 2001 525i along with all four 02 sensors, car has loss some power along with the dsc light and a funny looking light a circle with a a exclamation mark in the middle, just found out that my driver side stablizer link broke could that set off the dsc light.

Answer
Hi Sundifu!
The circle with exclamation mark (actually gear with exclamation mark) means that the EGS (transmission control module) has detected a fault in the transmission system.
If the broken stabilizer link did not damage the cables of the wheel speed sensors, then I suppose that it has nothing to do with the DSC light coming on.
I think the power loss has affected the coordination between the engine, transmission and abs/dsc (thereby setting off the dsc  and transmission checklights). Funny, you never mentioned that the check engine light is on considering that you say there is a loss of power.
Have the DME(engine) faults read by a good OBD2 scanner
(try the free scanning offered by Autozone). Once you get the results, you may decide to reach your own conclusions and proceed with repairs. Or, you may want to tell me about it and get my 2 cents worth of advise.
