BMW Repair: 96 BMW 328 i, temp gauge, bmw 328

Question
Thinking about buying this BMW 96 328 i what holds me back is the digital mileage you go only see the top of the numbers, the air bag light is on, and the lights for the radio system don't show up but radio works.  Also not sure where the temperature gauge needs to register.   other than that seems like a steal- drives great, lots of power  Any thoughts?

Answer
Hello Charity,
The digital mileage is an easy fix (it just needs backlighting bulbs in the instrument cluster). I do not know what radio unit the car has but BMW original radios are costly ones. But not if you can find a working one from a used parts/junk shop.
And I do not understand what you mean by where the temp gauge needs to register.
The airbag light is the only one that you should be concerned with since it is a safety issue. It can be a simple problem like a bad seatbelt buckle. Or bad connections between the various components particularly beneath the seats. But it would be best for you  to have it diagnosed by a dealer. Forget all the other problems that you mentioned. Concentrate on the airbag problem. You can base your buying decision solely on this.
