BMW Repair: Central locking on e46, beep beep, bmw service

Question
Can my 2003 bmw 318i auto be programmed to give an audible warning when the door is locked with the remote key. At this stage the indicators just flash.

I believe that only works if you have a factory alarm system installed. The siren makes the beep beep noise. Check with the local BMW service department and if the person doesn't sound like the know what they are talking about, they don't. Ask the shopforeman or a Tech with some technical knowledge. Open the trunk lid and on the edge on the left side will have little black buttons that say what the vehicle is prewired for. One of them will be the factory alarm components (DWA) if the vehicle is prewired. Not a bad option to install.
