BMW Repair: Blower motor resistors location, blower motor, valve cover

I recently replaced the blower motor on my 1988 - 325 6-cylinder BMW. The new motor ONLY starts on the 4th (HIGH) speed. Where are the blower motor resistors mounted at? I believe that bad resistors will not allow me to operate on speeds 1, 2 and 3.

 You should be right about the resistor, I've had the same problem before.
 If you open the hood and look at the firewall directly behind the valve cover, there is a small inspection panel.  Remove this and you will see the blower motor housing.  Remove the cover on the housing and you will see the resistor card sitting between the fans of the blower.  Give it a pull, and it should slide right out.
