fuel gauge showing empty all the time and empty light on this is a 1993 325i bmw

Kevin,
 Sounds like your fuel sending unit is bad, or your gauge isn't working right.  I'm pretty confident that the problem is the sending unit in the gas tank.  Check all the fuses to make sure none are blown, then swap out the sending unit.
