BMW Repair: Battery Replacement, pep boy, seat option

I need to replace the battery on a 1995 540i.
I've read where some say there is a bracket and a bolt to be removed and some say just pull up on the seat.  I purchased the battery at pep boy's and they could not figure it out.  They said call the dealer!!

If you do not have the folding seat option then just pull up on the front of the seat.
If your seats fold then find the little pull loop where the seat bottom meets the seat back and pull it to rotate the cushion up on the pivots. It can then be removed by pushing the lock levers in the center on the cushion between the hinges.
