BMW Repair: Temp sensor on BMW, senser, volumn

Question
I have a 528i BMW 1997 model. Unfortunately - the front right bumper hit a curb - and all of sudden my internal temp reading started readin "-40". I see a cable hanging in the well of front right bumper - I assume its for the temp sensor. I don't know where to plug that back in. Do you know? ( had a typo in my email address last time I submitted )

Sorry fot the delay in aswering.
The senser is indeed in the right front bumber area and
snaps into the plaster shield under the car.
If the wiring is hanging then i would sat the senser may have been knocked out and lost as they dont come disconnected without a lot of force.
