BMW Repair: Radio, stock stereo, stereo unit

I would like to know how to remove the stereo unit from a 1997 E36 318Ti. I am trying to put an aftermarket head unit in and can not figure out how to remove the stock stereo. Thank you for your time

If you look at the radio, you'll see on the left and right sides, a little hinged flap, you pry the flap open and it will expose a 5 sided allen head screw. The tool that fits that screw is only available from BMW. You can try using a regular 6 sided allen wrench, but you take the chance of stripping the head and then you're going to have problems.
