BMW Repair: stalls out, throttle position sensor, air flow meter

Question
Hello, i have a 1986 528 BMW, the problem i am having is it will not start very often and when it does start it will not continue to run. I have replaced the cold start injector with no results. I trouble shot it by the book and it lead me to the computer which I replaced and the problem continues. At this point I have ran out of ideas and any help I can get would be great.

Answer
sounds more to me like a air flow meter or a throttle position  sensor problem although a vacuum leak would do the same thing.    is their a chance the fuel pump or filter aren't giving enough fuel (check fuel pressure). also check the idle stabilizer.  you need to determine if the problem is fuel or spark related.   Its hard to diagnose this type of problem without a 5 gas analizer, as it is you have no idea other than it's not running correctly whereas if i had the HC CO and NOX readings i may be able to tell you what the engine is doing to the fuel (timing, mixture, vacuum leak ect).  check the obvous stuff like a blocked catalitic converter or air filter then look at the throttle position sensor and air flow meter, most likely you are getting false air (air the ecu has not accounted for with fuel) so it leans itself out and dies.
