hi michael,i have a problem, that when i try to lock or unlock the drivers door, the button does not pop up or go down, all the others do, what do you think the problem could be. thanks.
Answer -
Depends on what car you have
5xx and 7xx series cars from about 1988 have electronic locks (no mechanical connection from the lock solenoid to the button)
Most other models and years have a bar that leads from the key  solenoid to the latch and to the button, chances are a bar fell off.

you either have a burnt out motor, the pin is jammed, the motor has a bad ground, the wires are pinched or disconnected  the lock control modeule is faulty.
can you get in the car after you unlock it?
sounds to me like the door needs to be opened up.
