Question
i have a 03 Z71 GMC Serria SWB but, my problem is when i changed my u joints which i thought was the problem which wasnt  but i have a leak where the drive shaft goes into the rear end and has a little play in the shaft from front to back just wonderin wat is the cheapest and quickest way to fix it? i heard pack the yoke with a small rubber ball and pack grease in behind it .

Answer
On newer vehicles I would steer clear of the "shade tree" fixes. On yesteryear vehicles, sure this may work. But this is an inexpensive fix. You need a pinion seal. You will need a puller that you can obtain from your local auto part store.

Usually the OEM brand that is sold by autozone is not that great. They are cheap and will probably need to be thrown away after your task is complete. It all depends on the tool and brand. On the other hand, you could luck out and have it for a few years.
