GMC Repair: 2002 GMC Envoy stalling on hard turns, power steering fluid, alignment shop

Question
My 2002 Envoy acts like it's going to stall when I crank the steering wheel hard to pull out of a parking spot.  As long as the wheels are straight, it fine, but the more that I turn the steering wheels the closerit gets to stalling.   A friend of mine suggested that it might be a "power steering sensor" going out, but I can't find any information on a that part for a 2002 envoy.  Help.

Answer
Hi
I searched SI and found no mention that that vehicle has a P/S sensor. If it did it would be located on the pump, or the pressure line close to the pump.
Does it actually stall?
You may actually have another problem. Does it do it with a/c on or off, does it matter?
Those particular vehicles have problems with the EV fans. Does the Service engine soon light come on?
I would also consider a fuel filter and air filter on that particular vehicle also.
It could also be a Power steering pump going bad or a rack and pinion steering gear.
You can take it to a good steering and alignment shop and have them check the power steering fluid flow. That will let you know if the pump output is good.
Also seeing what it does when stalling.
Just some suggestions to consider.
I hope this helps
Good luck
