GMC Repair: 2002 GMC Yukon Loss of Power, fuel pressure gauge, gmc yukon

Question
While driving am experiencing a loss of power with not check engine indicators at all.  The vehicle starts "sputtering" and then shuts off.  Upon cranking, the engine acts like it is trying to start but just spits and sputters.  After about 5 min, it will all of a sudden start up just fine again.  This is apparently a flexfuel engine as indicated by the "Z" in the vin.  I have already replaced the fuel filter but the problem persists.

Answer
Hi
Really sounds like a fuel pump to me.
The Z motor pumps were really bad. This is what I think you should do.
Take your vehicle to a GMC dealership and have them run a VIS. This will tell them if unit is eligable for a recall they had in 2002 model vehicles for the fuel pump connector.
If you have already had it done, have them, or your usual mechanic hook a fuel pressure gauge to the unit and drive it around until or while it acts up.
If you see the fuel pressure slowly dropping off, it is the pump.
If not, post back and I'll help as I can.
Hope this helps.
JUST advice from experience.
Good Luck
