GMC Repair: 1993 Safari Fuel Pump, gas tank, fuel pump

HELP!! We just got a 93 Safari, and the fuel pump went out 2 days later. Its sitting at work in the parking lot, and we need to fix it! I believe I have located it, next to the gas tank on the right hand side (if facing front of van), but Im not sure exactly what we need to do to change it out. Do you have to block the gas tank off somehow so all the gas doesnt spill out? Or is it stopped automatically? Is this going to be an easy process, cause were B R O K E !! Cant take it to a shop, and we have 2 days to fix it. PLEASE help, any advice appreciated!

the fuel pump is in the gas tank the tank as to come down the tanks is on by straps.
your fuel pump is around 45 dollors .
