Chrysler Repair: Crankshaft sensor on a 2000 neon, crankshaft sensor, roland roland

Question
Hello I replace the cam shaft sensor on my neon but i am still getting the error code p0341 could the craft shaft sensor be causing this? the car starts and seems to run fine but the check engine light comes back on after being reset, also some one changed the plug to the cam shaft and did not solder the wires instead they used butt connectors, could this be causing the problem?
thanks in advance for you time

Greg

Answer
Hi Greg,
The cam sensor code is 0340, not 0341. I don't find a listing for the 0341. You can test the wires with an ohm-meter or continuity tester. The orange wire goes to pin 44 and should show 8v with the ignition on, tan/yellow goes to pin 33, and black/light blue goes to pin 43. That would answer the question about the wiring. While you have the pcm unplugged check those wires to be sure that none is shorted to ground (thought the black/light blue is 'sensor ground').
