GMC Repair: car shakes when accelerating, buick lesabre, coil pack

Question
I have a 1998 Buick Lesabre, 3.8. When I accelerate the car shakes. This usually occurs when the car is warmed up and speeds over 45mph.I have changed the plugs, wires, pendulum, coil pack and had a front end allignment. A mechanic drove it and said it was a cylinder. No check engine light is on. He recommended sea foam and still no improvement. I am running out of options. Any suggestions? The car does have 131,000 highway miles.

Answer
What is a "pendulum" ??????????

What is "sea foam " ??????????

In all my 25+ years of professional automotive expertise I have NEVER heard of these items.

With NO INTENT to be RUDE or DIS-RESPECTFUL, Find a NEW automotive technician to do work on your vehicle.

Without actually driving the vehicle the possibilities are ENDLESS.

Perform this TEST for me and let me know the result:

1. When this shaking starts to occur, maintain your speed and using your left foot LIGHTLY step on the brake pedal just enough to illuminate the brake lights and see if this shaking goes away.

You can repeat this procedure as many times as you like to see if you can keep getting this fault to rectify itself.

What I believe is happening is that you have an internal fault with the overdrive portion of the transmission.

perform the above said test and let me know.
