GMC Repair: Trans in a Blazer., chevy blazer, 2000 chevy blazer

Pete, my question is, well I have  a 2000 Chevy Blazer, and I see that you go up to 1999, so I was wondering if you could help me out in this or no. Well recently I've been having some problems with my car. I would hear it driving rough, but didnt' check it out. I asked my brother to do it but he never got around to it. So while I was driving on Mon. I noticed that my car would go up to 25mph, then jump up the the third shift, then hop back down after I hit 30mph. It would take a while for it to get up to 25 also. then it felt like I was just floating instead of driving. So when I was parking my car I was able to drive ,obvious, but while I was parking I went into reverse and it was gone! Ha ha ha. So I tried all the shifts and they were all working fine except for reverse. so my car is in my mothers garage just sitting there. and I don't know wheather it's my trans that's gone, or if it's just reverse. I also wanted to know what should be my next move? Now we have never had any problems with the trans, just the fuel system and that's it. Well to our knowledge, so we've had it for 2 1/2 years and this is the first. Could it also be that I'm driving it too hard, or that my hubby changes from reverse to drive in an instant?Thanks in advance. Cristina

this reverse band is a seperate band and the bad news is the tranny will have to be rebult . the only thing you can do is bring it to a good tranny shop and have them check it and give you a price . good luck to u hun and u have a pretty name pete
