Acura Repair: Brake Lights, fuse boxes, fuse box

Question
ok, a rusted off piece of the underside of my car fell off earlier on the highway and was dragging, i brought it to a Mobil garage and they said it was the catalytic converter cover, they then literally ripped it off. i noticed it was attached to a group of wires, they said it was for the OC sensor and they 'reattached' it. i also noticed that my brake lights weren't working. now i assume what they said was right (i'd like to think i know a little about cars), so a) was it just a coincidence that my brake lights (not tail lights, just all 5 brake lights) stopped working after this happened? b) i can't find the fuse for them to check it in either of the boxes, could you please tell me where exactly it is (and in which of the two fuse boxes)? and c) please gimme any ideas about what could have caused this. i'm positive the brake lights were working as of Sunday night. thanks so much.

Answer
Hi Justin,

The fuse for the brake lights are located under the dash it is a 15A fuse and if you look at it in the front of the fuse box you see 3 fuses on the top 3 under that and then the 3rd row you will see 3 more, the fuse on the very right on the 3rd row is your brake light fuse.

I don't see how pulling the cat shield would cause your brake lights to stop working but it could be possible while they pulled off the 02 sensor it may have shorted the system.

The wiring running from the fuse box to the brake lights run through the inside of the car and should not be an issue in this case.

Try changing the fuse or at least testing the fuse.

Let me know what happened.

Thanks,
Daniel
