Question
hi i have recently bought an alfa 145 98000 mile on the clock it has been lying up for about 18 months after charging the battery up the car starts up and accelerates as normal but when you take your foot of the accelerator the engine dies and the injector light comes on.theres that many sensors and with it having electronic injection iam puzzeled at what it could be appreciate any help

Answer
A code has been set and a scanner will give you the code. However, the fuel pump can quit anytime after 90k miles. It could be the throttle position switch is acting up--an ohm meter is needed to check its action. It might also be the maf sensor. Try cleaning the battery terminals and unplugging and reconnecting as many sensor connections as you can find because it very well may be just a corroded connection that is causing the problem.
