Alfa Romeo Repair: 1999 2.0 GTV spider cutting out, position sensor, welcome thanks

Hi, my spider starts when cold, but cuts out after 5 mins running (usually when you pull up). It then fails to start for hours. When you try it from cold it starts again. Could it be a relay or a crank position sensor breaking down? Any input most welcome....Thanks!

It would be a failed position sensor or the communication link is failing because of a faulty ECM. Try resetting the ECM by taking apart the batteyr terminals, cleaning them and before reattaching them touch the 2 cables toghether for 15 seconds, then reattach.  Do you have an immobilizer--it could also be at fault.
